🎶 “Who can take your money? (Who can take your money?)🎶
🎶With a twinkle in their eye? (With a twinkle in their eye?)”🎶
A song tuned in the “The Candy Man Can” originally sung by Aubrey Woods in 1971’s classic movie “Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory”, was tweaked and given a new meaning by Tim Hawkins by changing its title to “The Government Can”. He changed the words into a very funny, satirical but somehow truthful lyrics, in which, he aimed and fired at how the government has been gleefully taking our money.
But it took another turn when the same chorus has been used in videos uploaded by visitors in various social media on what seems to be what Disney’s power couple – Mickey & Minnie, together with other characters like Goofy, Donald Duck, and various Princesses have been doing the same thing what government has been doing all along – and that is, gleefully taking our money.
And the funny part? People, in general, are more than willing to hand their own money to Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of Disney’s gang – voluntarily, proudly, happily!
Admittedly, our family, is a great example of that group of people. We have become “willing victims” of Disneyland – shelling out our hard earned money for unbelievably about two (2) long decades now – no matter how ridiculously expensive tickets and annual passes have become. My first Disney experience was in 2001 together with my husband and my then, two-year old daughter. Our family has been going back & forth since then. We had and still have annual passes even now that our daughter has become an adult.
And as Southern California residents living 15 minutes away from the Mouse, have, of course, its own advantages. At least, we do not have to book flights, make hotel reservations, and travel half way around the world, so that we can just see the Mouse. So, with years of visits, I could now personally claim that I may be able to explore, even with my eyes closed, the very FIRST and ORIGINAL Disney Park in the world.
In short, I can give you tons of tips when you visit this place known to be called… “The happiest place on earth!”
But before jumping into Disneyland tips, let me first give you some interesting bullet points about its history and background:
